The mission of the South Gallia Alumni Association is to provide a place for South Gallia graduates, faculty and staff, and future members of the South Gallia Alumni Association a place to communicate, reconnect, and further development of South Gallia High School and this alumni association.

Our History

South Gallia High school opened in the fall of 1996 after a consolidation of Southwestern High School and Hannan Trace High School. The south gallia colors of Red, white, and gold and the mascot, rebel, were selected by eighth grade students from southwestern and hannan trace middle schools that would be the first class to experience south gallia for their entire high school careers. south gallia opened in the old hannan trace high school building in mercerville, ohio but funds were raised to build a new building that opened in 2009. The new building sits next to the original building site. in 2010 south gallia middle school opened in the second floor of the building. south gallia high school and south gallia middle school have a combined enrollment of around 250 students, currently. south gallia athletics is a member of ohsaa and offers several options for both male and female athletes. south gallia encourages the arts by offering several options in art, culinary, and music for students. the current principle of south gallia high school and middle school is bray m. shamblin. Former principles include tim scarberry and scot west.
